That Lousy Feeling
It’s my fourth year of surviving the Big C, and I’ve been feeling quite upbeat physically, emotionally, spiritually. Until yesterday, that is, when the physical side decided to succumb to the common cold. Yep, the common cold had the power to put me to bed and relegate the babysitting of my little girl to other members of the family.
Having a cold really puts a damper on things. Not only do I have to keep on sneezing and clearing my nasal passages, I have to constantly psyche myself to fight the headache and the “down in the dumps” feeling that threatens to engulf my body entirely.
I credit the fact that I’m able to go online to sufficient doses of Vitamin C, calamansi juice, pineapple and kalamunggay as well as the sheer willpower to continue with my normal routine as much as possible. If I can beat the Big C, the common cold ought to be a cinch.
